Different types of music often require a certain sound that dictates what kind you should buy. Obviously there’s electric and acoustic guitars but within these are a few sub groups. For instance electric guitars come with humbucking or single coil pickups – sometimes both! The difference? Humbuckers generally have a heavier sound essential in loud rock and single coils give a more soft sound. You should also consider getting a nice quality guitar when making your purchase that’s going to last. What are your goals? Before you set off to the store to get your guitar, make sure that you understand the type and style of music you intend to play. To get the best option for you, it’s best to try playing it first (or find a friend to), have an idea about the quality of the sound and even how good the frets feel as you move from one note to the next. However, as far as the budgeting is concerned, ensure that you buy a quality guitar and never one that gives noise instead of good sound and is unplayable.

Borrowing or buying used are also good options If you really want a guitar and find that there is no chance you can afford to purchase a good one, you have the option of choosing an used one. There are online options such as Craigslist and ebay which have a wide array of guitars. A store visit is normally the easiest way to see several second hand guitars and see how they compare to a new one. You also have an option of borrowing from a friend just so you can learn. This is a good option because in case you discover that guitar is just not your instrument, you won’t have spent anything, but this all depends on what you want in the end. Getting the facts right and preparing in advance will really make your guitar buying adventure a fantastic and interesting one. So, get up and start working towards buying your own guitar.
