Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Padjadjaran Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Padjadjaran Socialization of the Faculty of Medicine – Postgraduate Program Universitas Padjadjaran 16 May 2011, 4:16 am The socialization of the Postgraduate Program of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Padjadjaran was held at the second floor of the auditorium hall of UNPAD-RSHS Teaching Hospital, Jalan Eijkman 38 Bandung on Thursday 12 May which has been attended by the faculty alumni, students, academic members and staffs. There are some units under the postgraduate program such as: Basic Medical Science, Public Health Science, Obstetric and Gynecology Postgraduate Program and the Doctoral Program. The socialization was purposed as a study evaluation of the alumni and students to increase the quality and academic process of the faculty postgraduate program The background of the socialization program were: increasing needs of lecturers that have the qualifications of Master Degree as well as the Doctoral degree. The data showed that the period or length of study  of the  master degree education had been slowly completed/finished and this caused some impacts to the Doctoral degree, the need to increase the postgraduate accreditation, the researches which were not well-integrated yet with the education and social responsibilities activities as well as many unclear targets The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof.Dr.Tri Hanggono Achmad, dr and followed by a presentation of Prof.Dr.Firman F.Wirakusumah, dr, SpOG(K) that explained the faculty postgraduate program organization structure such as The Postgraduate Coordinator responsibilities (to coordinate, determine, handle, implement and responsible to the Faculty Board of executives/Postgraduate Program for any academic matters. The Secretary of the Coordinator has to assist the coordinator to keep any activities going smoothly. The Head of the Study Program should arrange, determine, handle, implement and responsible for any academic matters at the Master Degree Program or Doctoral Program, he/she will be assisted by a secretary who will be responsible for the smoothness of each activities and programs. Head of Division will be responsible  to coordinate, determine, handle and implement any non academic activities, he/she will be assisted by head of sub division for each study program and their staffs After that the socialization continued by Prof Dr Johanes C.Mose, dr, SpOG(K) who explained the Stretegics of the Education Goals Achievement through the Vision and Mission of the Faculty of Medicine Postgraduate Program of UNPAD. The vision of Postgraduate Program is: to be the postgraduate education program for medical science that has the excellence to develop the science and medical technology to increase the health education quality . The missions are: 1.To organize the postgraduate education program in medical/health sciences in an efficient, effective and having the continuity to increase the education relevances and conducive academic environment and having the concern for the accountability aspect. 2. Postgraduate alumni that have the qualities and national as well as international recogniztion who always keep their ethics and moral. 3. Up to date and innovative researches that will be able to contribute in the development of medical science and technology that will give benefits to the increase of health service quality There were also 7 speakers: Prof Dr Dany Hilmanto dr, SpA(K) who explained the curriculum development of the postgraduate program, Prof.DR Nurhalim Shahib, dr about  the importance of lecturers and students research innovations to increase the quality of the postgraduate program, Dr.Heda Melinda, dr, SpA(K) M.Kes  about the Students and Alumni as postgraduate program education pillars, Dr.Ucke S.Sastrawinata, dr, SpOG(K) about the educational experiences at the postgraduate program and its applications at the institution, Dr.Ida Parwati, dr, SpPK(K), PhD about the  Internal audit benefit to increase the institutional quality of the postgraduate education program, Dr.Gaga Irawan Nugraha, dr,SpGK, M.GK about the Financial Management Pattern of the Postgraduate Program and Suhaeni, Dra, MSi about the education staffs as the important pillar of postgraduate program.
