Fun Family Games With Songs And Lyrics

There isn’t a better way to spend quality time with your friends and family than by playing board games with them. It’s said that games often bring out the best in us, as we forget our everyday self and our true selves come out in the spirit of play. So, if you want to know more about your child’s personality, rather than sitting down with them and asking probing questions, get out a board game, and watch as they reveal all. Board games are much more useful than video games, and watching movies do not offer the mental stimulation that board games offer. With board games, there’s an instant friendship that’s formed between the players and they are great icebreakers at any family get-together. But rather than playing boring games that have no spice, why not choose a fun and musical way to play games? Spontuneous, a family board game that’s based around lyrics and song, is a fun way to enjoy your evenings together. The game begins by players listing out “trigger words” or words that they’d like other players to sing. Players are expected to sing a line from a song with at least five words, one of which must be the trigger. The first one to use five words from their list gets to roll the dice and proceed to the Spontuneous challenge. The first player to complete the Spontuneous challenge is the winner of the game. Once sung, a song cannot be used again for the game. Thus, everyone in the family is racking their brains thinking of lyrics. If the other players cannot come up with a song, the player who initiated the trigger words gets to sing the song and roll the dice. Songs from every genre and generation are allowed. This is the perfect game for Christmas time, when everyone in the family is already gathered together singing songs. Wouldn’t it be great to weave a lyric game around these together-times and enjoy the fun as people scramble to come up with obscure songs and unique lyrics? This family game offers opportunity for young and old alike to participate in the fun. The holidays offer a chance to add an extra twist; for example, one might only allow the use of Christmas songs.
